Loved the hike!
This historic park is notable for its opportunities to learn about the Nobel Prize winner, Cordell Hull. A library that has his complete book collection, a cave to explore, and a lookout spot, are all some of the attractions at this park. More information on this park and many more can be found at the TN State Parks website.

first opportunity to self-guide in cave!
It's basically an old cabin and a museum, which doesn't take much time. I do recommend a chat with the park manager who can provide more details about cabins, the area history, and native flora. The cave was worth the stop for me as it's the first time I've gotten to be my own guide. There are 3 water features to see that don't require crawling or serious exertion. It was just us and a couple crawfish and spiders, as far as we could tell. It is more open than some caves and therefore doesn't have as much of a temperature drop, but be sure to have a good light. Sign ups for a cave permit are online to help keep it safe for all life forms.

Humble beginnings.
Learned a lot more about this great man than I thought I knew. The museum was excellent and the property is interpretive. The replica cabin is awesome and the park personell are friendly and knowledgeable. This is a must see for history buffs if in the area!
