So much fun at Cooper's Gem Mine!
Our planned stop to Cooper's Gem Mine was a wonderful experience! The couple that own the business are very friendly & helpful. They have a store fully stocked with all kinds of rocks, minerals & souvenirs, & offer several size buckets to choose from, rocks to fossils. They bring the buckets outside to your spot around the sluice, under the covered metal roof. This is an activity you could do in the rain, you will probably get wet depending on the storm. We bought the 2 gallon rock hound bucket (the gray metal bucket behind the white 5-gal bucket in the photo), the wood tray on the bench is the findings from 1 2-gal bucket! We also got the 5-gal bucket but a thunderstorm came through, waited on the porch of the store for it to pass, but decided to go. They offered to pack our bucket in bags & load it in our car so we could go. The price of the buckets are worth it, you get plenty of gems! Great outdoor family fun adventure where you will get a little wet & dirty! Restroom on site.

    Grandson delighted
My husband and I took my 6 year old grandson to Coopers Mine to search for gold and gems. He had such a fantastic time and came home with a huge collection of sparkling gems. He immediayely told his mom that she needs to go back with him. He still talks about his trip to the Mine. A great way to spend precious time looking for.precious stones.
