Awesome town square

Historic downtown Columbia is the classic town square with the iconic courthouse, built in 1906, surrounded by vibrant shops, restaurants, a brewery, and cool places to hang out with friends. But wait, there’s more…adjacent to this beautiful downtown is the emerging Columbia Arts District and the ancestral home of U.S. President James K. Polk to the southwest and the scenic Duck River to the northeast. All this in the growing city of Columbia, population 39,000 or so. An outing in downtown Columbia promises good eats, great finds, live music and relaxing options, equally noteworthy for both the ladies and the guys. Coffee shops, vintage records, book store, barber shops, spas, boutiques, antiques and vintage finds make it worth the trip. If you’re here on the first weekend of the month, be sure to check out First Fridays for live music on the square, inside and outside the shops. And don't miss the annual tradition we celebrate here called Mule Day, happening every April.

    Picturesque
Columbia has a lot of great little shops and restaurants on and around the square. The square is a well maintained part of town great for walking around, grabbing a bite to eat, shopping, etc. The courthouse in the center makes the square picturesque. I would recommend stopping by and seeing what the area has to offer.

    Impressive courthouse!
My husband and I went into a couple shops on the square but it was too hot to walk around. We also ate lunch at a place on the square and it was very good!
