Centennial Golf Course, Tennessee, United States

Much Improved!

I live in Oak Ridge and have played this course, off and on, for years. Most of that time it was only in fair shape and I played elsewhere a lot. Recently, however, the condition of the course, fairways and greens, has been superb. I started asking around and found out that they have a new superintendant and the city has invested heavily in the course. Slow play has been fixed with the course marshals doing their job. I am really happy with it now and play it at least once a week. Warning-the greens are severely sloped and fast! Put your ego in your pocket and move forward on the tees. It plays much better and its fun to play!

    Maybe a bit generous...
In granting a 4/5 rating. But, this is such a nice layout over great terrain with lots of elevation changes, multiple tees to allow varying skill/strength players to enjoy or challenge themselves, AND, it is a great value at the price. TIP - check at the pro shop if the beverage cart is in use (neither of the two times I played) as you may want to take a beverage out with you. The water jugs were not in place either. TIP - this is not expensive to play biut you can save a few bucks by signing up to get messages and special offers. TIP - if you are a senior and will be in the area for awhile, consider the senior pass, upfront one time payment gets one free round, with cart, and then discounts on future rounds. As other reviews point out, the course needs some work, but it is still very playable and a good value for the price. I will be returning.
