Friendly, Great Float

Steve, Shannon, and Seth have got a great set up. We called that morning to let them know we were coming. When we got there they easily shuttled our kayaks to the launch. Steve told us about all of the cool places to stop and explore - a waterfall, cave, rope swings, and small cliffs. We went on the 10 mile float that took around five hours, but could take longer depending on how many times you stop. The take out is right at their place which is great at the end of the day when you are tired. It was a perfect paddle on the river. I can’t wait to do it again! Tips: Check out their Facebook page for special events. Call ahead to make a reservation. They have small cabins and primitive camping. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and a hat for the float. Get a quality dry sack for everything you don’t want to get wet. Bring a change of dry clothes for the drive home.

Friendly, clean, professional and safe. Same owner for 20 years.
We camped here last night in one of the bunkhouse cabins for a one night adventure to watch the Perseid meteor shower. It was amazing! There is no cell service so it was nice to unplug. The cabins ($35/night) are small but cozy and the bathrooms are very close, which I appreciated. Further down past the cabins is the primitive camping area for tents ($7). The lodging area faces a wide open field that is perfect for stargazing, and the river is directly behind. We were able to walk down and swim several times and the water is so clear! They offer free firewood and have several grills. I am not a big camper and these folks treated us like family and made me feel right at home. Steve is an amazing nature photographer so get him to show you some of his stunning images! PLEASE NOTE: There are no new owners as a previous reviewer claimed. I asked, and Steve has owned the land and business for over 20 years but kept the name "Bud's" from when he had a partner. This beautiful property is owned and run by Steve and his sweet daughter Clara. It feels more like a nature sanctuary than an outdoor party place so personally I feel good knowing they keep out any hooligans who want to disrupt that.

It is a low cost and fun trip on the Buffalo river
If you are going as a family, then go on a weekday so you can actually enjoy the river and scenery. Weekends are when it gets crowded with party people. The cabins aren't anything nice or fancy, but they served our purpose. The 10 mile run takes around 4 to 5 hours if you take your time and stop for lunch.
