Hope it stays open...

Have traveled to play this course in the summer for more than 5 consecutive years. We play Baileyton, spend the night, and then play Graysburg Hills before returning home. Several times we have watched a MiLB game close by. Heard the course closed down but then I received a message that is still open. We are planning a trip in several weeks. We enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the fair but challenging course. Has some unique holes and is fun to play. Hope it stays open so we can continue our annual trip.

    Nice course - great value
I got an unbelievable deal on this course, but it would have been worth it at full price. The front 9 sits in kind of a bowl and most of it is visible from the clubhouse. It looked wide open and easy until I started to play it. It is designed so that one lake comes into play for most of the front 9, and another small pond takes care of another 2 holes. The course is pretty short, but it's designed to punish the long hitter who isn't accurate (my favorite kind of course). The fairways start wide and get more narrow, and water is strategically placed. The greens are pretty small, and many of them are elevated and sloped. The back 9 is totally different. It's very hilly, short, and narrow. One par 4 is drivable, but the target is tiny. The back 9 also uses water, rocks, trees, and bushes as hazards. There are also very few flat places on the course. This seems to be designed that way on purpose, so you may want to practice some off balance shots before you play. Unfortunately, that extends to the tee boxes, and that's one of the few complaints I have about the course. Tee boxes should be flat. I have two other minor issues: 1) many of the holes on the front 9 run parallel to each other, so be alert for other players 2) there is no sand on the carts to fix divots. The course was in great shape...fairways and greens were quite nice. Whoever designed this course was clever. There are more challenges that first meet the eye that get progressively harder as the skill level increases. This was a fun course that is the best value that I've ever seen.
