Colors in the sky!!!

A wonderful day!!! The leaves are changing in color and falling fast. I love chasing the leaves in attempt to catch them as they fall, makes me feel like a kid again. I wore tennis shoes which is NOT the right thing to do. The leaves are wet. U have to climb many stairs which are covered in the leaves. Hand rail available as u cross over the top of the rock. Be safe and take ur time if u come to visit. I don't recommend bringing any kids to cross the rock bit they can play around it.

    Backbone Rock and Falls
We stopped at Backbone Rock for a hike with our dog. We first hiked the short trail to the waterfall. With heavy rains recently, it was really flowing and cool pouring down through a crack in the rock walls. Then we climbed up to the top of the ridge with really nice views and stopped to have lunch up here. The Backbone Rock continues up to the Appalachian Trail. We went about a mile and then turned back. Lots of mountain laurel blooming in late May. Overall, a cool area and worth a stop if in the area.
