A peaceful location
The highlight of this small cemetery is the impressive monument over the grave of President Johnson & his wife. This monument & other smaller monuments on the graves of other family members of President Johnson are surrounded by a small wrought iron fence. This cemetery is on the top of a small hill that has nice view of the surrounding area. Besides being historic, this is a nice, peaceful place to visit.

History lesson for us
We arrived in the late evening, it was still sunny out but the sun was going down so we knew we didn't have much time to explore. We finally arrived at his grave site we spent a little time there just reading all of the headstones and just thinking about what he and all of the relatives would think about the world today. If you are into history this is a great spot to reflect on with a president of the United States. If possible read up on the history of him and why he is buried there. It didn't cost us anything to get into here, not sure if there was supposed to be but we didn't see anyone collecting any money so we just drove though.

Impressive
The grounds and location of this National Cemetery are quite impressive. Johnson's area is at the crest of the hill and one gets a lovely view over Greeneville and off toward the mountains of East Tennessee. Johnson's monument is also an impressive one--hence the title of the review!
