Best Welcome We've Ever Had!

We stayed in Sweetwater on Friday May 6, 2016. In town to see Craigshead Caverns and The Lost Sea. The town has no movie theater, bowling, nightlife etc.. After searching online, my husband found Amvets. He called and we were invited out. When we arrived, we were met at the door by the bartender. We told her who we were and she signed us in. They were having karaoke. We bought drinks and took a table. Everyone was so nice and made us feel as if we were family. The karaoke was run by Vic and his lovely wife and the sound system was great. It was my husbands birthday and after many well wishes by such warm, wonderful people, we were bought several rounds of drinks. We enjoyed ourselves so very much and look forward to coming back for future visits with the awesome people and new friends we met there. Thank y'all for having us!

    DAR RESEARCH
we were only able to drive by the Amvets post during our trip, however it was part of out trip theme. It took my wife 2.5 years to complete the research needed to prove that she could be inducted into the DAR, Daughter's of the American Revolution. Her family patriot was buried in Decatur, Tn in the Pisgah Cematery. Road trip, it was a 3.5 hour drive to a very beautiful spot on the top of a hill in rural Tn. The SAR, Sons of the American Revolution just replaced the headstone on 2014 so it was not too difficult to find. It was a very moving day for my wife and I am glad that we were successful. I have tried to attach pictures but it will not allow me to send them.
