Ate Lunch, Then Rang Bell

We brought our lunch to the picnic tables at public library (literally next door, but technically part of the park), and after eating, made our way to the Bissell Park, specifically the Friendship Bell. It is a very well-designed bell, and the area where it is installed is nice as well. Be sure to take advantage of the fact that you are allowed to ring the bell, using the wooden striker. This is certainly a unique experience, and one which is fitting for Oak Ridge, and worthy of a brief stop if you're in town.

    Nice, convenient, clean
Surprised by the negative reviews. I was recently in the area to visit family and my daughter and I took my infant grandson to this park. It was nice, convenient, clean, interesting and even had a nice playground (closed due to Covid). We walked all around. It's not a full-day activity, but a nice little park for a stroll. We enjoyed it.

    Quiet park - Impressive Memorial
This is a very quiet park with the Peace Memorial/Bell in the middle. The bell is quite impressive and the story behind it interesting. The rest of the park is in need of upkeep and there is not much else to see. There is a fairly large playground for small children near by. Plan about 15 minutes to walk to and see the memorial/bell.
