Vääksy canal is a must-see attraction when visiting in Asikkala. It is always exciting to watch boats and ships go through the canal lock. The area is bustling with people especially during sunny summer days. It is a popular meeting place for locals and tourists alike. Nice old canal
This old canal is located between lake Vesijärvi and lake Päijänne. There is some restaurants around this area.

Must place to stop with cafes, gift shops and nature views
This is a must stop on the road 24 offering range of sights, shops, museums and cafes. Canal operates frequently passing boats from lake to lake. There is a large parking lot just by the main road. From parking lot nice path leads to canal through a bridge and over the river. Just by the canal there is a nice cafe offering sunny terrace and great selection of ice cream. You can walk along the canal and lake shore in the grove. Area has fishing museum and local decoration shops. Also local brewery sells their beers here. There is a small playground along the open air stage. This is a must place to stop if you need cafe and gift shops in the middle of great views.
