Historical and Peaceful
We found the information about the history of the Salmon Ponds on the boards as we entered very informative. It was great being able to buy some fish food. Our daughter found it fun to feed the fish in the various ponds. It’s quite exciting when one jumped up out of the water. The ambience of the whole place due to the advanced trees was wonderful. We found it interesting to visit the Museums too. We had lunch in the restaurant. Quick service and delicious food. We enjoyed the riverwalk. Disappointed we didn’t see any platypus anywhere. We weren’t sure the $8 entry fee per person would be worth it but we decided it was.

Gorgeous! Exciting! A must do!
I love fish. Eating, catching and just admiring. This is the place for that! Gorgeous grounds, lots of ponds where you can feed the fish. You can buy cups of food for the price of a $2 coin which you can get at reception if you do not have coins on you. The cafe is really good too with good service and delicious choices of savoury and sweet crepes. Throwing the food on the ponds and watching the fish jump about was really exciting. Highly recommended.

Lovely Place
We stopped by on our way to Mt Field National Park and so glad we did. Although it was raining and quite a cold day it was still lovely walking around the gardens. There is a lot of information about the trout and salmon and the museum of trout fishing was very interesting. We stayed for lunch and had beautiful salmon crepes. They even cater for gluten free and I can highly recommend the crepes. Service was very good even though they were quite busy.
