excellent tour

we went on this tour recently, after debating whether to do it that particular night due to weather concerns, we need not have worried it was a perfect night. Rhuben was our tour guide and he was fantastic, so friendly and enthusiastic and very knowledgable. the boat driver was also great (sorry forgot his name) this tour is well worth doing and is a lot of fun. we saw quite a few penguins on the night, and didnt feel rushed at all about our time on the island. Loved the boat it really gets up and goes, my grandson took so many photos of the trip to the entrance to the harbour, (not possible to photograph on the island) the drinks and snacks were very welcome too and the hot chocolate at the end. would thoroughly recommend the trip to anyone visiting strahan, and dont worry about the weather it changes again so quickly! thanks for a great night rhuben you obviously love your job.

    A fantastic experience
We knew nothing about this tour until we arrived in Strahan and booked on a whim. It proved to be a highlight of our trip. Our guide, Tahlia, a local who is passionate about her hometown and the little penguins, was a warm and knowledgable host, as was our skipper, Desmond. It was fantastic being up close and personal with the little penguins, and it was a privilege to see grassroots conservation in action. We were lucky to have a perfect night but rug up anyway.

Nice evening with lotsa penguin sightings
Let's be honest here, this whole experience is abt sighting fairy penguins, though they throw in commentary abt the history of the place and some cheese and wine in between, which are not bad at all. But if u don't get to see the main characters then it's really not worth the money. Luckily for me it was an evening full of penguins and weather was exceptional for this time of the year. Tour guide Isaac was well versed with his knowledge of the place. Skipper Desmond steered the boat nice and safe. The thing I like abt this particular experience is that u actually get on a tiny island, right where the penguins live, and u can't get any closer to a penguin than this. Unfortunately ur not allowed to touch it, which will make it well worth the money. Ur given red flashlights to look at the little animals cuz white light will blind them. Right before the adventure, wine and cheese with biscuits were served on board the boat and that's when u mingle around with ur fellow tour mates. Drove all the way to strahan just for this. Wasn't disappointed. But price was slightly on the high side for such a short experience. And if u don't see any penguins u don't get a refund.
