    Dolphins, Shells and Fresh Air
We enjoyed the 2 hour cruise that included sighting some dolphins and a 30 minute stop on Anclote Key Preserve State Park. the only access to the Florida State Park is by boat. The stop allowed for some shell seeking and getting your feet wet in the Gulf of Mexico. The crew were attentive and provided interesting information about Tarpon Springs area. The only time we spent in the shop itself was to get the tickets for the cruise. Amenities on board the boat include 2 restrooms and a bar. The maximum number of passengers is 49 and the seating is plastic benches. We chose to sit in the front of the boat to avoid the noise and possible exhaust from the engines. They do allow standing for better viewing when the dolphins are encountered. It was a pleasant adventure at a reasonable cost. There is a discount for seniors and you can reserve on line.

    Not pleased with Sponge Shop
We purchased the Complete package which included the Sunset Cruise, Dinner at Yanni's and 20% off at the Spongeorama Sponge Factory (gift shop). We were very pleased with the cruise and Yanni's restaurant. However, we were NOT pleased with the way we were treated at the Sponge Factory.. The saleslady at the gift shop gave us the tickets for the cruise, dinner and explained the 20% off coupon if we purchase anything in her shop. We did purchase sponges and soap, but we never got the discount. Plus, we were charged a service fee, which is actually a fee for using a credit card to pay for the purchase. This came of over $10 that is actually owed us. Yes, we are going to write Spongearama a letter explaining what happened at the gift shop. This is no way to treat customers that you hope return to your establishment. We were NOT pleased with the gift shop treatment as it ruined an otherwise wonderful getaway weekend.
