A great freebie to see the sites.
This was a neat way to do a little touristing in Tampa. We parked at the beginning “stop” at Ybor City (it was a Sunday and the parking fee at the self pay lot was only $1.00) and rode the free trolley to the end stop in Tampa, stayed aboard and rode it back to Ybor City. In total it was probably 45 minutes though not certain of that. The trolley is air conditioned and you have to wear the mask ( when, oh when will that nonsense stop?). The windows of the trolley are somewhat frosted so that diminished the views, but we did observe many sites (a Carnival and NCL cruise ships were in port) and some pubs with very creative names. There were many roosters roaming in Ybor City so there must be a story behind that!! Just a nice little diversion to see the sites for free. You are welcome to jump off at any of the (eleven I believe) stops along the way and reboard later (brochure says every 15 minutes).

This is one the most user-friendly public transport systems anywhere! And it's completely FREE!
We loved using the Tampa Electric Company (TECO) trolley system! So easy to use from the very first go. Just stand on the platform and wait for one to show up every 15 minutes or so. Super convenient for accessing all the main attractions in downtown Tampa along the Riverwalk and in Ybor City. Just pull the wire above your head that runs all the way along the length of the trolley to signal to the conductor/driver to halt at the next stop. This service is amazingly completely free for everyone to use but I do feel that there should be a tip jar for the drivers as they are so kind and helpful.
