Food for thought

Very interesting hearing the Indian story vs what u had heard/read previously. An emotive visit and well worth a hour or so of your time. It’s free to get in but donations much appreciated in helping to run this museum

    Partially under restoration
Very informative museum depicting the life and struggles of Mahatma Gandhi. Just 5 weeks ago we visited the Gandhi assassination museum in Delhi and it was our further opportunity to continue to learn more about his life. The museum is partially being renovated so unfortunately that takes away from the whole experience. The entry was free but we had to pay for the privilege of taking any photos, even with a cell phone. The exhibits “read like a book“ and consisted of well composed and informative photo collages with ample historic explanations, dates, famous quotes and descriptions. They were chronological and engaging. There were also some Tamil Nadu handicrafts on display . Like all museums in India so far this one was also “dusty”. Overall it is a very educational institution and a recommended stop for visitors interested in the history of modern India.

Oh what a blessing to visit the place!
Enter fee is nil. Ame space for parking. Easy to access. Wonderful exhibits on the freedom struggle as well as the life of Gandhiji. The museum has the blood stained clothes that the Mahathma was wearing when he was gunned down - will surely move one to tears. Highly recommend to take little children along so that they can learn about the lives and contributions made by freedom fighters for the sake of the nation.
