This is the best way to spend several hours in Talkeetna
The bicycle trail is going along the highway. The workout can be as easy or strenuous as you want. It is safe, nice, very relaxing activity for the whole family. The owners of the Bike Rentals are very friendly and will give you the best advise about the area. The rentals are very affordable and the bikes are in excellent conditions. They also have helmets, vests, and baskets for your water bottle and sandwiches.

Sojourn uP, uP, Down and Around a Mountain Lake.
Renting a mountain bike here, is a GREAT morning adventure, It is best to then take the bike around a near by lake. Allow about two hours. Directions to and from the lake and around it were clear and easy to follow. Mountain bikes were ALL well maintained. ( Note mountain bikes have front wheel susepension which makes the ride a little different than a "regular" bike.). Highly recommended an e-assit bike, unless you are an experienced and well trained cyclist. It is worth the extra money, as it is a climb, not huge, but still a climb, both going to and coming back from the lake. Plus the route around the lake is NOT flat, many ups and downs with lots of cuves. It is a very typical mountain bke path. BUT it is a BEAUTIFUL ride thru the woods, look for the watermelon berries, the bunch berries, and the highbush cranberries, listen for the eerie, haunting call of the loon. The ride IS WELL worth the effort!!
