Yang Ming Shan Leng Shui Keng, Taipei, Taiwan

4.5 (24 reviews) Spent Ranking #16 in Shilin Bodies of Water • Parks

Take a hike through the National Park

Leng Shui Keng is part of the Yangming Shan National Park, near Beitou and Shihlin, and New Taipei between Wanli, Jinshan and Sazhi. There are lots of trails for cycling and hiking. There are hot springs, sulfur deposits and fumaroles. By the way, snakes are sometimes found in the park, it's best to leave them alone if you come across them. Taiwan's tallest dormant volcano, Qixing Mountain, can be found in the park. Yangming Shan Leng Shui Keng is a good day out, especially for nature-deprived city dwellers.

    A Hot Cycling Route
Leng Shui Keng (or simply Lengshuikeng) of Yangmingshan is not only a popular spot in a national park but the road to which is also a hot cycling route. Simply go up Zhishan Road all the way to Section 3 and turn left at Lane 71 (140 meters above sea level). Then follow the signs and keep riding to Leng Shui Keng (748 meters above sea level). The route is almost 13 kilometers. You actually climb up over 600 meters. If you ride at 10kph, it will take approximately 80 minutes to arrive. If you continue about 2 more kilometers, you will arrive at Qingtiangang, another popular spot in Yangmingshan. I suggest taking Yangde Boulevard on the way back. Then you can slide downhill and rest your knees. It gets cooler up in the mountains. Be sure to dress warmly.
