My favourite part of the gardens, although it was a bit of a challenge finding it, some of the paths seemed to be cut off for maintenance.

    Lotus represents purity and rebirth
    Lotus flowers have a spititual symbolism. They represent purity and rebirth, The lotus is often called "the flower of life.." The lotus represents the creation of beauty from a lake of slime. The lotus is a thing of beauty. The Lotus Pond is not far from the Taipei Botanic Gardens. The lotus is an aquatic plant, it is sometimes called a water lily.

    Perfection emerges from slime
    The lotus is celebrated in Chinese culture because this beautiful flower emerges from slime. The lotus flowers in summer, with the advent of spring the flowers are beginnng to emerge. By the way, most parts of the plant are edible; the lotus root is a popular dish in Chinese cuisine.
