Nothing much to see beyond the fort walls
This is an active Indonesian military base. Security around the base is quite lax despite it being actively used. We almost entered inside the base before a guard came running and told us in Indonesian something. We assumed he meant that we could not enter inside and walked out. There were hardly people inside and it had military vehicles parked inside. You could take a picture with the word 'Palembang' written outside. But apart from that there is nothing much to see.

    Another photo stop in Palembang
Benteng Kuto Besak Fort on the Musi River is an old Dutch fort that has historical significance from that colonial era. Still used by the Indonesian military so therefore not accessible for visits, is still worth a few photos whilst wandering around the area near the Ampera bridge (along with Monpera and the Grand Mosque, all within a few 100's mettres)
