Amazing

Wow, Kulikalon (in Tajik Big Lake) was a cool discovery. I reached the lakes on a 2,5hs easy hike starting from Artuch camping place. Incredible nature and amazing lakes, one different from the other. We set up our camp close to the path leading to the Alauddin Pass, on the lake shore. Simply beautiful!

    Hiking Kulikalon Alaudin and more
We arrived hiking from the Seven Lakes (see my review) at Chukupak Lake, then down to the Alplager mountain hut, and up to Kulikalon lake, one hour further are the Dushakha lakes, quieter and stunning also. Then climbing Alaudin Pass (not that hard) and descending to Alaudin Lake where there is a friendly campsite with a restaurant. From Alaudin Lake, continue to Mutnyi lake, and possibly Chimtarga/Energia Base Camp and the pass at 4600 meter. There is an entrance fee of 16 som. per day for foreigners, but it may or may not be collected.

    Hidden Beauties of Tajikistan
Kulikalon is probably the easiest lake to get to (if you want to be off the grid) if you make a deal with the taxi driver to drop you off at the end of the road about 10km further from Artush, you only have to hike like 2 hours to get there. the trail climbs a pass but it's not that bad, the lake is worth it, definitely.
