Great for a half day outing if the weather is cooperative
I visited Loch Lomond as a tourist/visitor. If you have 3 full days in Glasgow, I suggest that you spend half a day here because of the views and it's nice to take a stroll/walk next to the biggest lake in Scotland. You can have a pinic here on the expansive grass here. To get here from Glasgow city centre, there's the Scottish Rail departing every 30 mins and the journey takes about 30 mins as well. So factor that into your planning. I think there's a bus service bringing you to Loch Lomond as well. However, I don't have the details for that. There's a restaurant and bar near the train station. If you are in need for a bite/drink, there's the place for you.

Scenic location
We visited Loch Lomond on a sunny, bright day. Armed with good hiking shoes, there are some very nice trails to walk on. The views from the higher altitude areas are unbelievable. The beaches are excellent for picnics. Was pleasantly surprised that there were so many options for Vegetarians in the cafes there.
