    Beautiful landscape
The best place to unwind away from the pollution, traffic and manic streets on a very hot day. A cafe for snacks and drinks but always take water.

    Many animals
This park exceeded my expectations. Here on Tripadvisor I noticed many photos of coatis. I saw some pictures of capybaras too, but the last one I noticed was from 2015, so I figured they had left since then. But to my surprise I found a capybara after only 200 meters walking, starting from the food court, at a stretch between two lakes. Then after some water birds and butterflies I arrived at the monkey island, which housed not only monkeys, but also at least four capybaras and some middle-sized birds. Further on, there were more monkeys, brown and black, and towards the end finally the coatis turned up, in large numbers. I also noticed one agouti. Altogether, I haven't found another place around Sao Paulo with so many different animals yet (excluding the zoo of course). And I have checked three nuclei of the Cantareira park, the Jaragua trail, and the serra do mar around Rio Grande da Serra. The cyclists are annoying. They seem only interested in racing through the park, sometimes being as loud as possible. The tourist train may be nice for kids, but seems quite disturbing to the wildlife too here. And around the coatis I saw two groups of people lose large bags with food. It all seemed accidental, but people really should be more careful. Finally, entrance to the park is free, and it is easily accessible from the Engenheiro Goulart train station.
