Morning Glory

The colossal power of these thundering falls, viewable from both Argentina and Brazil, and accessible from Paraguay, is a mesmerizing sight: 275 separate falls in a U-shaped formation pound the water below in raging cascades with a deafening intensity.

    Absolutely magnificent !
We made a last minute decision to visit the falls and we had to do so in one day. Early departing and late return flights from and to Buenos Aires were the only option.Upon arrival to Iguazú airport we explored the transportation options and we were suggested to take a cab instead taking minivans because minivans take you first to the city and then to the National park. We met with our cab driver Claudio who spoke English well and he presented a few scenarios for our visit. Due to the lack of time and the reciprocity visas we intended to see only Argentinian side of the falls. Claudio explained that reciprocity visas were canceled and with available time we can cover both sides of the falls. So he drove us first to the Brazilian border which we crossed in no time despite kilometres long line. If you are planning to rent a car on your own be prepared for a long wait. Taxi drivers have a dedicated lines and border crossing is quite easy. Upon arrival to Brazilian Iguazú national park entrance he provided us with explanations how to utilize time and what to do within next 3 hours. The falls are absolutely magnificent. We quickly realized what would we miss if we did not visit the falls. After 3 hours spent on the Brazilian side we were back to Claudio’s car on our way back to Argentina. The border crossing went very smoothly again. We arrived to the Argentinian national park and once again we followed Claudios directions. We have completed lower and upper circuits, had enough time to see Devil’s throat not rushing at all. It was so different experience in comparison to the Brazilian waterfalls and we highly recommend a visit to both sites. Please be very careful of coatis (a raccoon type of animals) since they can be very vicious. They “attack’ almost anyone who carries any type of bags knowing that there is food in the bags. Claudio took us for dinner to a very nice restaurant in the city and afterwards drove us to the airport. I must say that we were so lucky meeting the cab driver and absolutely recommend his service.

    Unbelievable sight
These falls are truly amazing. Words cannot do it justice. They are approximately 4 kms in length with 275 waterfalls. When you first see these falls emotions are very high. You don't expect to come across something as awe inspiring as this. We have mot been to Niagra but speaking to people it seems very comercialised -this is not the case at Iguazu. We hired a guide ( wise to do this) and visited the Brazil side of the falls first. Got there early - before the coach trips arrived and at each viewpoint were not blocked out by other tourists. You felt you were by yourselves. We did the same the following day on the Argentina side with the same experience. It is staggering how close you are able to get so close to the falls and feel the force and power of the water. On the Argentine side you can at an extra cost take a boat trip which takes you actually under one of the waterfalls. Obviously you get wet but to be that close to mother nature is humbling. This is an experience that will be hard to beat.
