The discovery of a true treasure of the Catholic faith in Tiradentes!

Can you imagine that this absolutely incredible treasure was kept and almost forgotten at sacristies of old churches in Tiradentes? Yes, indeed! At the totally restored and renovated former parish house of the "Igreja Matriz de Santo Antônio", "Museu da Liturgia" houses its unique collection of sacred art objects - from paintings, sculptures, images, "ex-votos", silver, pewter and wood objects, costumes, missals and other religious pieces - more than 420 items from the 18th to the 20th centuries! And all were delicately restored by renowned artists and craftsmen. "Museu da Liturgia" represents the gigantic efforts of the whole Tiradentes' community and citizens to rescue its history, faith and religious treasures. Absolutely unmissable! Enjoy!

    Wonderful!
It was my second visit to this museum.. Mix of modern installations, with sacred art! Unmissable in Tiradentes. There's a digital directory that help guide you to understand what you see and a little about the rithuals of the Catholic religion. Even a non catholic with taste for beauty and history will appreciate this museum.
