It is definitely a must see.
This is one of the most interesting experience you can live in Belo Horizonte!!! You can buy fruits, vegetables, cheese, and desserts tipycal from Brazil (as "doce de leite" e "goiabada" - you mut try both of them). It's flea market style and isn't for everyone, but, if you are in Belo Horizonte, you definitely must go there!

Great place to buy fruit, cheese, souvenirs, etc...
This covered market features numerous stalls selling cheese, meat, cachaca (the local liquor), produce, kitchen items, embroidery, hammocks, and even items for your pet animals. After a bit of wandering, all the shops look the same. But with some diligent searching, we did find a shop selling rennet (for making cheese), some deglet noor dates, and even some jalapeno peppers (they were pretty mild, though). Also a good place for grabbing a bit to eat and a glass of beer, as the locals do.
