The Hemingway of Brasil
The museum is certainly well worth visiting, although most of the exhibit is in Portuguese. Still, one can piece together the life, times and philosophy of this great writer, this man who brought the culture of the sertão and the country to the limelight of the world. So many tourists consider Brasil to be only Carnaval, Rio and the Amazon and fail to see the richness of the rest of the country. If you are willing to have your preconceptions banished and willing to get a glimpse of the soul of Brasil and her people, this museum is an absolute MUST SEE. I'm going to go out on a limb here - after visiting the museum, I felt as though if I saw nothing else in the county, if I had packed my bags then and there and left, my trip would have been completely worthwhile.
