The spot to be

I didn't go in, but my wife did. She loved it..., but I loved sitting at the door steps and do people watching..., and a band played outside for hours..., a beautiful church less than 60 meters away..., great spot to spend a couple of hours!

    Jorge Amado for researchers
This is a collection of books, articles, and research video material on Jorge Amado, as a writer. The feature translation of his book in more than a hundred languages, a rich collection of correspondence, and a tremendous amount of written appraisals of his work. Amado is by far the most famous Brazilian writer and there are 100s theses and dissertations on his work. You can find the biographies written about his life. But again, it’s great to research!

There is more here for tourists than might first appear
Even if one is unfamiliar with this famous author, this museum could be worth a visit, particularly for those who have interests in recent history and culture of Bahia and Brazil. Amado is author of many books, and there are informative displays for many of them. Succinct summaries in English appear for each book below an interesting collage of images that include book covers, sketches, and photos. Collectively, the summaries provide information not only about the author but also about the subjects he addressed in his novels--often characters and events in everyday life in Bahia. A small gift shop has items that could be unusual souvenirs to take home or give to others.
