Great Place for a Pleasant Walk in Nature
My wife and I really enjoyed an afternoon walk through the Lincoln Memorial Garden. For what it is worth, our GPS did not take us to the entrance using the address. It told us that we had arrived, when we had about another mile to go to the parking area. If your GPS takes you to the wrong spot, just keep on driving! This garden/park has several different trails that are easy to follow if you pick up a map at the visitor center. Due to COVID the center was closed, but they still had an ample supply of maps in a holder next to its entrance. Each trail and turn are marked with labeled posts, so the map is essential to chart your walk. Spring flowers were in bloom, and the trees provided ample shade, making the 84 degree temperature very pleasant for us! We even saw a fawn during our walk!!

    Excellent hike
I spent around an hour here and hiked 1.5 miles. If it wasn't so hot (+90 degrees) after an already long day sightseeing, I would have loved to see the entire site! I first stopped at the Nature Center for a paper map and trail recommendations. The guide recommended a few paths but loved the view from Walgreen Bridge so I made sure to go there. She said the trails were very safe and I had to agree. In an hour, I only saw her and another couple (from an extreme distance), and a few squirrels and rabbits. The paths are wood chips or grass. There were lots of benches with Lincoln quotes and the trails were exceptionally well cared for. She said the views would have looked like what Lincoln would have seen and their emphasis is on native plants. Donations are welcome in the Nature Center. If you go after the Nature Center is closed, they have a pdf of the map online.
