Bridge of Apollodorus over the Danube was a Roman segmental arch bridge, the first to be built over the lower Danube. Though it was only functional for a few decades, for more than 1,000 years it was the longest arch bridge in both total and span length

Abandoned masterpiece of history
The once exceptional roman bridge is now buried under the river Danube. The only visible part is this piece of ruin, which is totally abandoned. The place is difficult to find and to encounter, there is no paved road or any footpath . On our way back we were attacked by a number of stray dogs. It is not recommended to visit in its current form. However, some development has started in the neighbourhood, which might reach the monument in the near future. Note, that the photos given by the management don’t show this ruin, that is a new roundabout creation on the main road.

underwhelming piece of old stone structure
of all the original Roman bridge, all that remains is one pylon/leg of stone structure, which now is enclosed within a concrete 'swimming pool', due to Iron Gates II hydroelectric dam downstream having risen water level to above the original level. Access to the site is via a short unpaved road from waterfront, then 2 minute walk. Overall there is little to see, with no explanatory text at all, not even a proper sign for the 'attraction'. Right in front of the bridge you can swim in the river. Overall not at all interesting, reconsider your need to visit, allocate at most 5 minutes for it.
