Gorgeous Danube Gorge
Took a boat tour, very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Don't bother to book, you can get one cheaper from the dock in Orsova. First time on Danube and already impressed. Very picturesque landscape. Next time..the other end, the Delta!

Gorgeous Danube Gorge
Took a boat tour, very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Don't bother to book, you can get one cheaper from the dock in Orsova. First time on Danube and already impressed. Very picturesque landscape. Next time..the other end, the Delta!

A gorgeous place, a must see
If you travel in this part of Romania, you must go visit "Cazanele Dunarii" (Danube Gorge or Iron Gates in its broad sense). They can be visited both by boat, or by its shores (car, bicycle, foot). If you visit by boat, you must book 2 hours (visits include 2 small caves - Veterani and Ponicova -, Decebalus' huge statue, Tabula Traiana).
