Excellent historical place to visit with a huge museum. The guided tour is worth the extra money as well.
We visited on a hot June day, managed to get the last tickets on the 11.00 tour and it was well worth the extra money. Our guide explained the history of the area as well as the history of both the Edison and Ford families in Fort Myers. You move around the estate and our guide worked hard to ensure we always stopped in the shade rather than the blazing sun. We learned a lot of really interesting information and got to see the grounds and that both families lived on and into the houses (you aren’t allowed inside to protect them). There is also a huge museum on the site as well as an adjoining restaurant (which gave us free Key Lime because of our entrance wrist bands - it was delicious!). I would definitely recommend a visit here to see a bit of history and to see the beautiful houses, gardens and water front.

Edison and Ford - worth the time and admission $
Spending time in the museum was very interesting, the actual grounds of the two estates has a lot of history. We enjoyed the tour guide and despite only being on the job 7 months was pretty fluent the key elements to share. This tour was worth the price, recommend the guided tour for an additional $5. Make sure you leave yourself enough time to explore the grounds and museum after the guided tour. We arrived late afternoon and were time limited after the tour.
