Number one art museum in Turku
The museum is located atop Puolalanmäki hill in a beautiful granite stone-castle from 1904. The building is a fine example of the national romantic style and one of the most prominent landmarks in Turku. The permanent exhibitions on the 2nd floor provide fascinating art, from iconic pieces to the very latest contemporary artworks. The museum presents also temporary exhibitions. On our visit, there were colorful works by the designer and ceramicist Birger Kaipiainen.

Outstanding Gallery and Exhibition
When we are visiting this wonderful city we make a point of visiting this museum. The exhibitions have never disappointed and once again they are staging a fascinating exhibition on the works of Sukhothai Sipila and Greta Hällfors-Sipilä. If you are in the city this is an exhibition that should definitely be on your to do list. The museum is a fine historical structure in its own right and is well worth exploring. There is a cafe that serves good food and coffee and it’s a wonderful place to take a break.
