Very beautiful and peaceful

As we walked the path from the Naantali Spa and Resort we started to see the church peak through the tree branches. I'm thankful our visit was in the spring before the tree leaves bloomed because it made for some beautiful photography of the church. It was so peaceful that we spent at least an hour wandering around the church and cemetery taking some great photographs and enjoying the atmosphere. The church wasn't open the first day we were there so we made a point of coming back when it was open. I wish we could have heard the pipe organ play but at least we got to see it. The inside is huge for a large congregation and absolutely breathtaking.

    Took French friends to visit, got a surprise private tour from amazing janitor
    Popped by today, and we were extremely surprised and happy to receive a very knowledgeable tour from the blue-haired janitor/guard. This guy should definitely become an official tour guide of the church! My French friends did not understand the 'Vahtimestari' plackard on his chest and asked him very difficult questions, believing him to be a tour guide, and he delivered perfectly, knowing more about the church than many real tour guides knew about their work places in places like Turku's Handicrafts museum or Apothecary museum. My friends were very impressed with the church and I was really happy for this wonderful surprise, as my own knowledge about the church was non-existent. Such a great experience, especially as it was my friends' last day in Finland. Thank you so much!!

    The symbol of Nantalli
    Unfortunately we went to Nantalli on Monday, so the Church was closed. The Church is a majestic structure that dominates the landscape of the old town of Nantalli. The Church's presence makes Nantalli what it is... Good place to hangout.
