Family trip
We chose october for visiting because then there is less people and more room for discovering the island. Also some attractions are already closed for winter but you can see all the main things anyway. When we vist, the weather was rainy and cloudy but it didn’t hesitate us because you can enjoy theatre under the roof and there are many things to do inside. I would recommend taking sandwiches with you and have a nice picnic at the seaside or maybe even in the moomintrolls room, where is very nice view from the window.

Never heard of Moomin before this but fell in love right after visiting this place!
Everything was in Finnish but I actually enjoyed myself there. They have a great buffet lunch deal. Great for families. Don't expect rides because it's a theme park not an amusement park.

Highway robbery
If you enter this thing with a hefty dose of low expectations, you will not be dissappointed. The good people of the Moomin company have tried to take into account kids and the place is built quite nicely to cater for their needs as long as their parents bring a fat wallet. From an adult perspective, everything either costs a lot (seriously, 5 € for a little face painting) or the facilities are lacking, seriously. There are few if any benches for grandparents to rest on and unfortunately lots and lots of stairs. There is unfortunately a lot of "look but don't touch" stuff and the jungle jims are a little strangely constructed in respect to not being able to see where your kid is at all times. The walk to and from the island is quite long but fortunately there are nice waterfront restaurants in the town of Naantali to set you straight after the ordeal. So, if you want to get robbed of all your savings and watch them get poured into the great money making moomon machine, please, do go.
