Feeling of luxury (if you skip the breakfast)
Feeling of luxury….in a prison! Very nicely decorated and remodeled hotel. Our hotel room seemed to consist of three original cells. We loved the big and comfy bed, luxurious bath, big tv, small balcony and usb ports above the bed. Additional mirror in the room would have been nice. I also missed an outlet for my flatiron in the bath. Excellent service. Only big minus was the breakfast—unacceptable! Ham tasted like cling wrap, salmon did not get refilled, bacon was cold, karelia pies were hard as rock, juice was bitter and cappuccino was even more bitter. Wine bar seemed very cozy but did not have the time to enjoy it.

Voluntary stay in (former) prison
For those who are excited about special places, than plan your stay in Kakola Hotel. Modern rooms, friendly staff and good located close to Turku downtown. Rich breakfast buffet, however a reasonable selection of jam or honey was missing - than I would have given 5/5 points.

Nice atmosphere, new but rustic Style
We enjoyed the atmosphere of the old prison very much and the architecture and interior design. However, this time the hotel had some shortseissa of personnel, which had some effect on the Services. Nice breakfast and good beds in the hotel. Good cleanliness and safety regimen. We recommend this hotel! We got some shampagne, as a surprise, this was nice.
