Beautiful place to visit.
Spent a few days here in the summer. It a quiet place but if you just want to relax and enjoy the Finnish countryside then this is the place. The town has everything and lost of walks in the country. You can go boating or swimming in the lake and of course you can go up to the bridge to enjoy the view. Highly recommended.

The best view in Puumala.
The Puumalansalmi Bridge is not the highest or the longest bridge in Finland but at 25 metres high and 781 metres long it provides a wonderful view of this part of Lake Saimaa. And you don't have to trek up steps. The tower which is 37 metres high has a lift that will accommodate a lot of people. I would recommend it as a stop just for the view when you are visiting the many other attractions of Puumala.

Beautiful Town
Our Finnish friends took us here. They say it is a very quiet town in winter but in the summer there are many boats and tourists. Cute little lake town.
