Salpa-line fotress

By car it takes less than 1/2 hour to get there from Savonlinna, take road 71 (or Joensuu road) to Raikuu and there are signs to Salpa-line fortress, it is about 4km from main road, first is Raikuutie (left turn from main road), then turn left to Pistalantie and then right to Paasiniementie, defencelines are before bridge and there is small parkinglot. There are no staff or toilets etc. Walkinpath is about 1,5 km long oneway, with different height and stairs, there are three bunkers two for machineguns and one for AT-gun (visitors may enter bunkers, take flashlight with you), there are also half-collapsed trenches and stonewall. These fortifications were built 1940 -1942 and never used.

Nice and fast visit by Punkaharju
The salpa linne we went to was by a cafe in Punkaharju. Right behind the café is tracks to the historical scenery and some original constructions still.
