Great wines & hospitality

I've been there a few times with groups of Americans and we all loved it. My favorite is Negru de Dragasani (ecologic wine). The hosts were probably the best at any winery I have been in Romania, wonderful team!

Excellent wine tasting in Dealu Mare, great reds!
There were two of us, looking for a wine tasting in beginning of February in Dealu Mare, during COVID season, good luck to you, some might say :-) First of all, only few wineries were open. Second, many were picky and lazy and did not care much about 2 people visiting them. But... there were 2 young folks at Vitis Metamorfosis who welcomed us on a Friday midday wine tasting!!! We felt really at home, and their wines are so good... We tasted the white blend, very flavoured, then the rose, then stepping up to some tasty red ones. Cabernet Sauvignon surprisingly good for a very reasonable price point, Syrah was smooth and lovely, and then Cantus Primus Feteasca Neagra, the flagship brand, which was full bodied, round, delicately spiced, not so in-your-face as some other FN are. very pleasant although 14,5% alc. A big thank you to the team at Vitis Metamorfosis! We will come back! Highly recommended!

    Perfect tour and wine tasting
First, we appreciate the responsiveness and openness of the staff, as we reached out to several wineries in Dealu Mare area (ones not visited yet) for a guided tour and while some did not even respond, we were mostly rejected since it's just 2 of us. It's also harvest period, busiest of the year, but that makes Vitis Metamorfosis gain even more appreciation. The tour was held by Ana, a pleasant and well informed young lady who told the story and shown the elements of the wine making process. The tasting was accompanied by great "neutralizers" and the wine is very good (that we knew upfront). The price was ok (not very clear what to expect given the different packages, the difference weekend VS weekdays and the small size of group, though). All in all, it was a very relaxing experience and we are planning to come back.
