Informative and enjoyable visit

Moara de hârtie (The Paper Mill) Association has initiated and is developing The Paper Mill and the Crafts Village Complex in Comana (Giurgiu county, very close to Bucharest), that consists of 10 creative workshops based on old crafts, that used to be practiced in the Romanian traditional village: weaving at the hand loom, reed mace processing, blacksmith, pottery and ceramics, woodwork, traditional kitchen, traditional mill and bakery, as well as book-related crafts: hand-made paper, letterpress printing and bookbinding. Our mission is that of being a focal point of synergy between people, crafts and art, doing this by: 1. Direct experience. 2. Education and training. 3. Manufacturing handmade objects in the spirit of the old crafts.

    Paper Mill
Suitable for children. The mill has various workshops (making paper, printing, pottery, carving). The people there are very friendly and helpful. It's worth a visit.

Old craftmanship, new people, great traditions reloaded. A treasure for creativity, relaxation, body and mind!
This is a marvellous place, located near incredible nature and heritage sight seeings: Neajlov river delta, Comana forest, Comana monastery. Here, a great young team got to rebuild a miniature Romanian village, where old occupations as pottery, printing or weaving are remastered can be observed or learned from experienced locals. The team is English speaking, highly trained and very open minded. You may both visit or participate in workshops. Surrealist poet Gellu Naum lived here. Great souvenirs, unequaled experiences.
