Fun & Great River Safari for 2 hours!
We went on Madu river safari from Nilwala safari and the guy took us there was very nice (I don't remember his name thou) and explained the details well. We had extremely fun, it was indeed a well spent evening for me and my family. We visited the temple, and fish therapy also. Fish therapy was amazing and the place was so good they charged 200/- rupees of each and count one less of as a discount. The total 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours boat ride was cost 3000/- for 5 people and I would say it was well worthy, even though I am not aware about the actual charges.

Good experience
Visited Madhu Lake with family in the month of May. The Safari was fun altogether. They charge about LKR 5000/- in off season for a full boat. Private boat for each family. Guide and boatman Charam Baram accompanied us. Quite funny guy with good sense of humor. Enjoyed talking to him throughout the 1 and half hour boat ride. They provide safety jackets for the ride, highly recommended for kids. It's a beautiful lake with lot of activities to do on the ride. We visited Fish Farming, Cinnamon farm, lagoon. It was fun visiting all these places, especially fish farming. Enjoyed the fish pedicure :-). My son enjoyed feeding the fishes and driving the boat. Please do keep some cash in hand as you might want to tip the care taker at fish farm, then you can buy some cinnamons, oil or powder at the farm. If you are lucky enough, you can also spot the crocodile. In our case we did see the monitor lizard at the end of the ride. Overall fun and value for money ride.

Very interesting afternoon
The Nilwala River Safari was included as part of our tour of Sri Lanka. A good way to spend a couple of hours, saw wildlife associated with the watery surroundings, as well as local sights.
