Quaint and lovely

This place is incredible if you go on a Sunday, because it will be filled wiith local people who go to the sea with friends and family, so there is a charming atmosphere: many different people enjoying their incredible sea in a local way, which is the vibe I love to discover and join when I travel. The little bay is lovely, you can rent sunbeds and there is a small cafè that serves good food and cold drinks, beers and cocktails too, at honest price seen the place, that is very difficoult to reach. You will have to follow a steep path from the main road -where you leave your transport mean- down to the sea level and it’s not advisable for people who have a walking problem, beacuse it’s not paved and in some parts there are slippery passages on rocks. Coming up will be a bit heavy, but it’s surely worth the effort. Go and visit the nearby temple too, Peace Pagoda, bcause it’s very close and it’s a great place for the soul and for the landscapes you can enjoy from its first floor.

Beautiful beach but not worth the trouble
The beach itself and all the greenery is magical. Getting there, not so. If you are scared of step down hill, or have trouble walking uphill, this place is not for you. When I went, there was a large number of people and unfortunately not enough space if it were to get more packed. There is a small juice bar but while watching the man make my drink, I just knew I was going to catch something. Not from him necessarily, but from the extreme lack of food hygiene. After my drink I decided to take a boat with a guy named LARA who I found out later was well known for all the wrong reasons, so beware! He is a not honest. And he has very creepy looks. He tried to charge me 20,000 LKR for less than an hour of a boat ride with no stop to see anything. With all the other beaches around Sri Lanka, I would definitely put a pass on this one. I wouldn't consider it a MUST see.

Not secret, not secluded, not hard to get to
We chose to go there because it was recommended for snorkeling. There are 2 little beaches, linked between by a pathway parallel with the seashore. It was fully crowded when we get there,at around 4 p.m.We chose the second beach and went snorkel parallel with the shore, towards the end point of the peninsula. That is were the magic happened. Although at first the water was blury, after 10 minutes of swimming we began to see real show. It's crowded with reef fish and corals. So for snorkel it's wondeful, if you know where to look. Otherwise, i wouldn't come here for the beach.
