Excellent exhibition ....well worth a visit
We took a tuk tuk from Coral Sands Hotel return trip driver offered to wait for us 1000 rupee return was about a 5km trip each way, the museum was definitely worth the trip. Manager and staff passionate in sharing the impact of the disaster and the recovery. Lots of photos ( some disturbingly graphic) but they are behind a curtain and staff make sure you are ok with viewing as they are confronting images. Other rooms old explanation re tsunami and pics of the aftermath . Definitely worth a visit if you are in Hikkadua. Will cost 509 rupee entry. They used to just have free entry and a donation box but many Russians never paid so now they have to have an entry fee. A really worthwhile visit

    very informative museum
a place to visit and respect. It tells the entire story of the Tsunami with lots of pictures and a thourough explanation by a very friendly lady. The most impressive pictures hang on a wall that can be closed off with a curtain in case children come to visit too. They do a great job by teaching the tsunami victimes as well as their children to open themselves up by drawing, painting and talking about it. Really worth visiting.
