Wroclaw Zoo & Afrykarium, Southern Poland, Poland
4.5 (2.983 reviews) Sunday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent Ranking #15 in Southern Poland Zoos
Must visit in Wrocław
One of the best places to visit in Wrocław. I recommend to buy ticket online because the queue to the ticket counter is huge. The zoo is very big and the amount of animals that you can see is pretty good. This is also a family friendly place.

Hidden gem of a zoo
Wroclaw zoo is a surprising visit in the middle of the city, We went into the zoo with high hopes and were greeted by Giraffes straight away. Behind them was an aircraft hanger building where the aquarium is housed with other animals from Hippos to Crocodiles. The aquarium has so many amazing animals including a beautiful sea turtle. Walking around the 33 hectare site is tiring so make sure you wear comfortable shoes. There are many houses in and around the zoo which have several different exhibits including a Madagascar house, Reptile mansion, bird mansion. So many species to see, I would recommend over 4 hours here for sure to make sure you get the FULL experience. The condition of the animals is absolutely amazing as well, none of them, looked scraggy or damaged like you sometimes see in other zoos, absolutely impeccable.

Lovely zoo with many rare animals too see. Mind the staff though, they are quite rude
Beautiful zoo with lots of animals that I haven’t seen in other places. Lots of facilities for children, and should be good for around 2-4 hours depends on how busy it is. I recommend coming on a Sunday as in Poland, it is custom for most shops to be closed leaving only tourist attractions open and food outlets. I have had a great experience in Wrocław, the people are mostly bilingual and friendly however at the zoo I found them a little rude when I couldn’t speak to them in polish to order my lunch. I speak very few words in Polish but I do understand ‘stupid tourist’ which he called me to his colleague directly at my face thinking that I didn’t know what he was saying - whilst all the time smiling. Maybe the zoo should consider its welcome to foreign tourists who no doubt contribute massively to the entrance fees and in turn animal upkeep every year.
