Fine building with tourist knick-knacks in the imposing arcade
The building itself is both beautiful and imposing, lying in the middle of the great square - one of Europe's largst squares. Once used for trade of cloth it is nowadays an arcade of trinkets and frills in an endless row. All selling just about the same tourist stuff. On second floor there is a museum part and both the ticket office and the entrance to the underground museum (Rynek Underground) is within the building. You can't miss this house if you're on a walk across the square. So, you can just as well walk in...

Beautiful but ... a tourist trap
A beautiful place full of souvenir shops that you must visit but .... Be aware that the prices despite the look of a "local market' are higher than in the shops not facing the main square . We found amber jewelry at least 25% cheaper at a shiny jewelry shop in old town, that was located in a small parallel to the main square, street . Be aware that it could get very crowded and risky for COVID-19 Be aware that the open market, on the square outside of the Cloth hall , despite the 'cheap look", is also very expensive compared to shops located off the beaten path of main street and main square.
