Skansen w Sanoku, Southern Poland, Poland
4.5 (327 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Subcarpathian Province Speciality Museums
Interesting but pity there is not more access inside the buildings
Set aside 2-3 hours, and refresh yourself with coffee and very good cake at the end. There are some really interesting old houses and farm buildings from the Bojkowie, Lemkowie, Dolinianie and Pogorzanie regions - made from wood, straw, wooden shingles. What strikes one is how cozy these homes were and well organised. And the Ruthenian churches/dwors are outstanding in their constructions. This ethnographic park ranks #3 in Europe for a reason. Buildings like the bakery, chemists, clockmaker, post office etc. offer fascinating insights into the past as do the watermill, sawmill etc. But I particularly liked the simply constructed farm cum animal buildings with their straw roofs and practical interiors.

Beautiful historical site with lots of old buildings. A must see in this area
In sanok, the Skansen is a group of old buildings from around Sanok that have been brought to this area and set up. These include old churches, schools etc. and give you an insight into light from 100 to 150 years ago. They are all well preserved and worth visiting. I would suggest you take a guide - on Mondays the Skansen is free, but again, without a guide it isn't quite as good.
