Suicidal memorial
This statue was completed in 1972. It is a memorial commemorating those who have drowned themselves in the rapids. According to a Finnish poem, the maiden of Imatra and her lover Ontrei threw themselves to the rapids.

Signature statue of Imatra
This is the signature statue of Imatra ("Inkeri") located in a beautiful park with easy to walk paths, which take you also to the banks of the Vuoksi river.

Place and moment to reflect and remember
Take a moment and stop by the Maiden of Imatra and give a thought for those who have been unlucky with love for one raeson or another. Put things in perspective now and years ago.
