Exceeded expectations
We actually came here to check out the Pop Up Penguins, but we had never been to the museum before so decided to have a look around while we were there. It exceeded expectations! My husband is not into museums, particularly any that are in any way related to wars and like conflicts. But even he said this was much more interesting than he expected. There are lots of planes to look at and lots of exhibits relating to various worldwide conflicts. Interesting and definitely worth a visit. There is also a cafe and shop. Entrance is free but there is a donations box, and you can donate via eftpos, which we did.

A must do attraction in Christchurch
I was expecting a quick visit and ended up spending half a day. The experience was enhanced by the volunteer guide who was a font of background information. I have to give it a five star rating as it is on par with the otherwise incomparable US Air Force museum in Dayton Ohio (when adjusted for population).
