Leftover space with grass and patches of shrub
Almost 2 km in length, but just 100m wide this grassy green zone along the 'New Waterway' looks rather neglected. There used to be tall trees, but the local authorities ordered them all to be cut. There are some patches with low leftovers. The east side of Maassluis was the scene of similar destruction. There the whole river bank including a cycle path was converted into an industrial zone. It reflects the vision of the ruling coalition of the cartel parties: business before wellbeing.
