Dating back to medieval times
The older part of the Delft City Hall, a belfry called Het Oude Steen (The Old Stone) dates back to 1300 and was used as dungeons and torture chamber. The newer part in front of the belfry was built after a fire by the renowned architect Hendrick de Keyser and completed in 1629.

Dutch Renaissance style architecture
Stadhuis van Delft (City Hall) is located on the Market Square opposite the Nieuwe Kerk. Its surrounded by cafes bars restaurants and shops with many selling Delft Pottery for which the city is so famous. Construction first started in 1200 but in 1618, the town hall burned down. It was rebuilt shortly thereafter It is is an example of Dutch Renaissance style architecture. Its historical and a rather stunning but unusual style building.
